Well neither do we and we are here today to show you the best places to really taste (or slurp) the real Alcudia. We aren’t talking Magaluf-style vodka shots and the like. We are talking local tipples and places with traditional charm and history…
So without further ado, our three top picks for 2017 in Alcudia:
Vermuteria Wine Experience:
A vermuteria is a place that typically makes vermouth and other wine-based products. In this case the emphasis is on the WINE. The Vermuteria Wine Experience is a new place for 2017 in Alcudia Old Town, which offers many local Mallorcan wines by the glass. They have a huge selection of wines because they have a state-of-the-art machine that preserves the wines once opened and therefore they can offer many types of wines by the glass.
At this bar you can also buy wines by the bottle to drink and to take home as a tasty reminder from your holidays in Mallorca.
Beer Lovers in Mallorca:
Yes, here in Mallorca we have our very own brewery. It’s called Beer Lovers, and the beer is goooood! It’s two brothers that decided to convert their granny’s garage into a beer factory a few years ago. Since then the premises have grown, the selection has improved and specialist shops all over the island fight to offer Beer Lovers beer. Nowadays the boys from Beer Lovers struggle to meet demand!
If you are staying in Alcudia, you can visit the Beer Lovers brewery (yes, still on the original premises) in Alcudia Old Town. And if you are here in summer time, on a Friday evening from 4pm they open their back garden and serve their beers, charging brewery prices by the bottle. If you pay them a visit on a Friday, don’t forget to take a few munchies as they don’t offer food but you are welcome to bring your own. And some of the brews pack a punch… If you know what we mean.

Alcudia has its own bodega (wine cellar) where they produce just one wine – a fantastic wine as it happens. As of this year they are offering tours of the bodega along with an explanation about the wine and a taste as well, of course. And what better present to take back from your holidays than a bottle of wine produced in the village where you were staying? It’s a great talking point for any dinner party.
